Laurie Foon - Designer of the New Zealand label Starfish - one of New Zealands Pioneering Eco Fashion Labels will MC at the inaugural eco runway featuring 12 New Zealand Eco Fashion Designers on Saturday 21st September 2013

A full days programme is set down for the Inaugural Launch of New Zealand Eco Fashion Exposed with the Day consisting of a Wardrobe Swap & Style Event at the Dowse Art Museum starting at 9 am
and finishing with the Eco Fashion Runway at 6.30pm
at The Notre Dame des Missions Performing Arts Centre at Sacred Heart College, Laings Rd, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand.
Stansborough will display garments made for movies such as the Hobbit and The Sacred Heart College Kapa Haka Group will perform wearing garments from Designer Ron Tekawa.
The garments featuring will be show casing three different aspects of Eco Fashion. Ethical (Fairtrade Soucing of Fabrics), NZ Made Ecologically Sustainable Garments and Up Cycled Garments which is a design solution for Waste Reduction.
Designers from all over NZ have been working hard on their runway collections which include Indent Ranges for Retail and One of a Kind Bespoke Pieces. Designers include: Heke Design, Woman of Joppa, Karishma Design, Ron Tekawa, Contrary, Dane Dagger, Designs on You, Ghost Train, Dear Prudence, Señorita AweSUMO, and Doppelgänger. Those attending the runway will have an opportunity to purchase from most of the ranges show casing after the event.
Eco Designers of Jewellery, Accessories, Children's Wear, Environmentally Friendly Tie Dye and Felted Scarves/Hats will also have their creations available for purchase at both venues. Designers Include: Deeday Afropuff Upcycled Crafty Stuff, Colourful Creations, Lady M''s Vintage Treasures, Mellissa Old Felt, Fabula Spa and JAKOnappies Children's Wear.
The event which is all about giving people opportunities will also feature students from two local High School's showcasing examples up cycled garments.
An educational segment on how to up style old t shirts and The 50 Pairs of Jeans Challenge, where jeans salvaged from being landfill waste will be presented by Nora Swann of Kila's Style, an Auckland based Stylist and Denise Anglesey designer of the Denise H Label and founder of NZ Eco Fashion Exposed.
